Connecting Vets to What's Theirs

Worth Their
Weight.

Thousands of organizations help veterans. Nobody helps a veteran find the right ones. We do.

Meet Worth Their Weight.
In his own words.

Two minutes with our founder. He didn't know the VA benefits he'd earned existed, or who to ask. It's the same gap every veteran hits, whatever they need, and it's the one we close.

The Mission

They earned it.
We help them get to it.

A veteran rarely shows up with one problem. Housing, a job, an ID, benefits, and somewhere to sleep tonight, all at once. Most organizations solve one of those well and hand over a list for the rest.

We do the sorting. Fifteen minutes on the phone and you get an email with the organizations that actually fit your situation, with names and numbers. Two weeks later we check whether anyone picked up.

When a veteran needs to file a VA claim, we connect them to an accredited VSO in their state and stay with them through approval and after.

"The veterans least likely to ask are the ones who need the most."

The Problem

The help exists. It is scattered across thousands of organizations, and no one is pointing veterans to the right ones.

The Solution

One conversation. We identify what a veteran actually needs, match it to organizations that handle it, make the introduction, and follow up.

The Goal

Every veteran who reaches us walks away with names and numbers, not a website.

In service to the veteran. Outrageously generous to all.

How We Work

Two programs.
One mission.

One conversation connects a veteran to the organizations that can help. For the ones who will never call, we go find them.

Program 01 Now active

Concierge

You should not have to become an expert in the system to use it.

Tell us what is going on. Fifteen minutes is usually enough. We work out what you need across housing, health care, mental health, benefits, income, work, school, legal and records, and family support. Then we send you the organizations that fit, with a name and a number for each.

Two weeks later we check in. If a door did not open, we find the next one.

Any veteran. Any era. Any discharge. No cost.

Program 02 Now active

Search & Rescue

Some veterans are never going to call. So we go find them.

We embed in the community, visiting shelters and local events and building the relationships that lead us to veterans the system missed. No clipboard, no clinical lens. Real human contact first.

Once we find someone, the practical barriers come down before anything else. A ride to an appointment. A phone and a way to get online. A week somewhere safe while things get sorted. Then the work of connecting them begins.

Worth Their Weight prioritizes unsheltered veterans first, the population the desk-based referral model cannot reach. We do not turn away veterans who walk in or are referred to us. Triage is based on need.

Worth Their Weight is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. All claims-related services are performed by VA-accredited attorneys, agents, or Veterans Service Organizations.

What we help with

Whatever it is,
we know who handles it.

Crisis and immediate safety · Housing · Food and essentials · Health care · Mental health and recovery · VA benefits and claims · Income and assistance · Work and school · Legal and records · Family and caregiving · Transportation and connectivity

Worth Their Weight is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. All claims-related services are performed by VA-accredited attorneys, agents, or Veterans Service Organizations.

"What's the catch?"

There isn't one.
Free for veterans. Always.

Worth Their Weight is free to every veteran we serve. No fees, no dues, no catch, ever. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by donors, sponsors, and grants. Donors pay so veterans don't have to. That's the whole model.

No fees

Not when we find you. Not at intake. Not at any point.

No dues

No membership. No subscription. No sliding scale.

No catch, ever

Not when we connect you to a VSO. Not when your claim is approved. Not ever.

Our Story

From the ground up.
Literally.

In 2015, Cory Gold joined the Army with a contract (and a dream) to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He excelled through basic training, AIT, and Airborne School. Then, right before Ranger selection, his parachute failed to open fully. He hit the ground with a broken back and a traumatic brain injury.

After an honorable discharge, Cory spent four years in excruciating physical and psychological pain, not knowing how to get help, or that help even existed. In 2020, a fellow servicemember told him about VA benefits. He filed his claim. Today, Cory is 100% disabled by the VA, gets the treatment he needs, and lives a happy life with his wife and daughter.

Worth Their Weight exists because Cory knows what it's like to be a veteran who doesn't know when to ask for help. He founded it in March 2026 so that no veteran has to wait four years to learn what they've already earned.

The 1% Pledge

Our services are free to every veteran, no fees, no dues, no catch, ever. The 1% Pledge is a fully optional way for veterans who've already been connected to their benefits to help another veteran earn theirs. Select your VA disability rating to see your suggested 1% monthly giveback.

Based on 2026 VA disability compensation rates for single veterans with no dependents. Enter the suggested amount as a recurring monthly donation on Zeffy.
